The course aims to deepen risk factors related to family and peer relationships. The topic of child abuse will be considered, together with its developmental effects and possible intervention strategies. The second issue will focus on peer rejection during school age, examining conceptual aspects, strategies of assessment and interventions. Finally, the transition to adolescence will be analyzed taking into consideration interventions to prevent risk behaviors and to promote wellbeing.

Learning Objectives
To know the most relevant risk and protective factors within family context: attachment style, parenting, conflict, abuse, significant events of family life. To investigate some dimensions of the interventions with families.
To deepen issues related to the social risk behaviors during school age and adolescence, with a particular focus to peer rejection during school age and to risk behaviors in adolescence ( i.e. substance use, violence). To identify and understand the role of protective factors and to outline interventions at the individual, school and community level.
