Updating the Syllabus

Once the academic offering has been published on the University website, it is necessary to input the course information (Syllabus) for that academic year.

Entering course information (Syllabus) is important because:

  • It is a fundamental service offered to students.
  • It clearly and comprehensively outlines the educational offerings of each course at the University.
  • It is a legal requirement under the regulations for transparency in the operations of public institutions.
  • It is a faculty duty, alongside lectures, exams, and maintaining the attendance register.
  • It is a key factor for ANVUR evaluation of study programs.

The Syllabus can be entered through the U-GOV application:

  1. Access the U-GOV application with your unique University credentials (matriculation number starting with "D").
  2. Select the menu Teaching → Course Planning → Syllabus to view your courses for which you need to input the syllabus and all other necessary information in both Italian and English.
  3. If the courses existed in the previous academic year, clicking on the Copy Texts button will automatically copy the texts from last year, which can then be modified.
  4. Confirm by clicking Save.

The Syllabus for each course must be entered in U-GOV BEFORE THE START OF THE CLASSES for the current academic year and, in any case, no later than the end of October.

Guidelines for Completing the Syllabus

Integrated Short Version on the U-GOV Platform

  • The Teaching & Learning Center, in collaboration with the University’s PQA, has drafted a set of guidelines, with a short version directly integrated into the U-GOV Teaching – Syllabus platform.
  • You can access these “integrated guidelines” by clicking on the question mark icon next to each section of the Syllabus.

Extended Version

The full Guidelines were presented during the opening session of the training module “TLC – Quality in Course Design 2024,” offered on the Moodle platform dedicated to faculty training. You can access it at the following link: TLC Moodle. The recording of the first session and the Guidelines are available on the Moodle platform.
