Learning Objectives
1. Knowledge and understanding. The course aims at:
Introducing students to the knowledge of theoretical and methodological principles of developmental and educational psychology; introducing students to the knowledge of cognitive, metacognitive, emotional, and social-relational processes that substantiate development and learning in various life stages and contexts.
2. Applying knowledge and understanding. The course aims at: Promoting the ability to understand and apply the theoretical and methodological principles of developmental and educational psychology to design interventions in the field of psychology; Promoting the ability to understand and apply the major strategies and codifying systems to describe and analyze cognitive, metacognitive, emotional, and social-relational processes.
3. Making judgements. The course aims at: Promoting the ability to know how to evaluate intervention actions in psychology; promoting the ability to take a self-reflective attitude.
4. Communication skills. The course aims at: Increasing awareness of the importance of adopting metalinguistic thinking to communicate clearly with diverse interlocutors; being able to collaboratively carry out applied experiences.
5. Learning skills. The course aims at: Promoting the ability to collect, organize and interpret data from the scientific literature.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of the processes and constructs studied in the field of developmental and educational psychology.
Teaching Methods
Lectures to explain the main theoretical concepts. Introduction of assessment and intervention instruments. Discussion of cases and scenarios in developmental and educational psychology. Activities on tests and measures of learning processes. E-learning activities.
Type of Assessment
Evaluation is based on the production of a written report on the curricular stage experience carried out by the student. The written report has to be sent by email to the lecturer no later than 72 hours before the oral exam. During the oral exam the report is discussed and, if successful, generates the grade of eligibility.
