Observing the routines and relationships in day care centers; applaying sociometric measures, implementing tutoring, measuring the role of emotions in social class groups; observing the path of psycho-oncological cares; observing family relationships. All contexts where the stage will take place will be descripted. Students will realize a stage in a selected context.

Learning Objectives
Promoting the ability to apply knowledge about social, cognitive and emotional processes in educational and care services (day care centers, schools, oncology wards, associations of foster families). The course will provide students with the necessary skills to independently carry out stages. Particular emphasis will be given to how write a final report, with attention to critically highlight the limits and the implications of experience on own knowledge, ability to do and to be in the relationships. The course enables students to apply their knowledge in possible work contexts, facilitating future career choices.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of the phenomena observed in each stage, passive knowledge of English language.
Teaching Methods
There will be lectures and meetings with experts working in the contexts where students will realize their stages. Exercises on active listening and sociometric measures. Students will present to peers the critical report (ongoing) of their stage.
Type of Assessment
The proof consists of a written report on the stage that includes the description of: aims, methodology, main findings obtained, a critical discussion on the experience. Students’ experience will be assessed through the written report and the judgment expressed by the company tutor.
Course program
The organization of the contexts where the stages will take place will be described to the students by the staff that is directly involved in them. For day care centers, routines and the network of relationships (children, educators, families) will be described. For primary and middle schools, some teaching experiences and sociometric measures will be presented; in addition, the processes involved in the experiences of tutoring and the role of emotions on the quality of social relationships in the classroom we will addressed. For oncology wards, the path of psycho-oncology care will be described, with particular emphasis on the use of artistic and narrative strategies to cope with the disease. The issue of adoption and foster care will be presented with particular attention to the experience of some foster families. In addition, exercises of active listening and applying of sociometric measures will be realized in class. Instructions to carry out bibliographical research in the main database and to write a report on the stage will be provided.
