This course is aimed to enable students to obtain appropriate methods, instruments, techniques in order to carry out psychological interventions in social, community, work and organizational situations.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
a) Social psychology: this course is aimed to deepen knowledge and understanding of methods for interventions in social contexts and local communities; to obtain applying knowledge and understanding of such methods, related to needs analysis, action research and participatory evaluation of interventions, focused particularly on social conflicts and marginalization; to make judgment in carrying out researches, in accordance of interventions’ ethical principles; to reach communication skills both in studies and in social situations with different social actors; and learning skills to develop further projects.
b) Work and Organizational psychology: specialized methodological, planning and operational knowledge to plan and apply interventions in organizational field, particularly referred to action research, organizational surveys, management of change, processes of recruitment and selection, assessment of skills and attitudes, candidate profile. The course will provide students applying knowledge and understanding to design organizational interventions appropriate to the request, recipients and contexts of application. Making judgements will be favoured through direct practice in laboratory of techniques of work and organizational psychology. Communication skills will be promoted to present and discuss interventions and tools in this field, and self-learning and self-updating capacities.

Teaching Methods
TEACHING METHODS
Seminars and workshops. Meetings with experts working in Public Services, Enterprises and Non Profit Organizations. A participatory approach to learning will be emphasized. Monitoring, supervision and evaluation about stage experience.
Attending is compulsory in 75% of class’ activities.
Students will carry out a guided experience of STAGE for 80 hours in local organizations, relevant both for social psychology (40 hours) and work and organizational psychology (40 hours). Choice of organizations will be discussed with professors.
Attending stage is compulsory for the entire duration .

Type of Assessment
LEARNING ASSESSMENT
Written examination consisting in a report related to the experience of the stage (theoretical background, methods, evaluation, observation). Report will show the achievement of learning outcomes (knowledge and understanding, applying knowledge and understanding, making judgements, communication skills, learning skills).
Oral examination aimed to verify the report.
ASSESSMENT METHODS
Outcomes of examinations will be evaluated as “pass” or “fail”, where pass is referred to a positive evaluation.
