The course aims to provide an advanced knowledge on social and
emotional difficulties in childhood and adolescence, with a main focus on
conduct disorders and anxiety disorders.
The course will provide a theoretical framework (Developmental
Psychopatology) through which analyse and define the different forms of
social and emotional difficulties, it will provide methods and measures for
the assessment and finally it will provide prevention and intervention
programs.

The course aims to promote knowledge:
1.On the theoretical definition of social and emotional difficulties in
childhood and adolescence, with a main focus on conduct disorders and
anxiety disorders.
2.On the main methods and measures of assessment;
3.On the prevention and intervention programs

The course promotes the ability to evaluate the different forms of social
and emotional difficulties in childhood and adolescence, and to provide a
prevention or an intervention for the specific need.

Ability to critically evaluate possible alternatives and suggest a track of

To use appropriately the technical language related to the topics of the
course. To know how to communicate appropriately with children and
adolescents with these disorders, and with their parents and teachers.

Knowledge and understanding
The examination consists of: a) a written examination of the theoretical knowledge of the course; B) a written examination of the applied knowledge of the course; (C) an oral examination.
All students (attending and non-attending) have the opportunity to perform intermediate tests in which students can: a) present in class a case study; B) Performing a part of the written examination on the theoretical knowledge of the course.
The evaluation of the the theoretical knowledge will be carried out through open questions on the course
content.

Being able to justify some decisions related to the intervention designed

Knowing how to argue their decisions with a specific technical language.
