The purpose is offering a basic knowledge and stimulating a critical knowledge of the subject underlining the thematic, conceptual and multidisciplinary connections required by a sociological perspective and the tensions to which the possibility to assure the develop of individual and collective welfare, in the advanced capitalism societies, is nowadays submitted

Course program
Sociological analysis of welfare systems by a historical as well as an institutional interpretation of the development and meaning of social policies, with a particular attention to the experience of Welfare State in Italy and to the relationship between the citizen-user and institutions. We will also analyse crisis and transformation of welfare systems within the most recent processes of economy "globalization" and the action of supranational institutions.
